Waxing hair removal is a temporary method of hair removal for men to consider. It's a popular option given that it provides hair removal for several weeks. So in that regard, waxing is a superior hair removal than shaving which only give a few days at best of hairlessness. Waxing isn't pain free however, can be a bit messy and sticky depending on what option you use and involves buying at least a few items to actually do the work assuming you're doing it yourself. You might choose to put your body and hair removal in the success of a professional and get them to do the work for you. Waxing Hair Removal For Men Waxing involves spreading a thin layer of heated wax on the unwanted hair and then covering the wax with a thin piece of paper or cloth which is then rapidly pulled off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Or you might try ready-to-use wax strips that already have a thin layer of wax on them and are directly applied to the hair being treated and then quickly removed as mentioned above. In each case, the hair is pulled out at the root and the treatment typically provides several weeks of hair-free skin before the hair starts to grow back again. So if the "hair is pulled out at the root" part sounds painful, it is. The pain lasts a second or two but it also depends how much hair is being removed and of course what body part(s) is being treated... One advantage of waxing hair removal over shaving is that shaving tends to only last for a day or two before the prickly feeling of the regrowing hair is noticeable! People who are on certain medications and people who suffer from ailments such as diabetes, varicose veins are often warned against waxing. Before performing waxing on yourself, your best bet is to consult a physician if you're unsure about possible side effects or conditions that you suffer from. Plus, some waxing hair removal is simply impossible to perform yourself (ie. back waxing) so in some cases, your best bet might be to consult a professional for their waxing hair removal services. My Waxing Hair Removal Experience As we discussed on the main waxing page, body waxing refers to using a wax substance to remove unwanted body hair. My waxing hair removal experiences have generally followed the same Benefits and Considerations listed above. I generally got several weeks of hair-free skin but usually had irritated red skin for the first days after treatment. It does hurt too although I suspect the quality of the person doing the waxing can impact this. Some waxing you can do yourself but other body parts require a second person to help you out so it's your choice.I also found the process to be messy and somewhat painful especially when large areas of hair were being waxed. Waxing Hair Removal Conclusion The fact that you get several weeks of hair-free living (as opposed to longer hair-free periods offered by laser and light treatment options) makes waxing a less desirable option if you want to avoid regular treatment every few weeks. I've also found that waxing hair removal is often difficult to do right the first time especially in areas with a lot of hair. You might end up having to treat the same area several times to get all unwanted hair removed. If you're thinking about a hair removal option that provides longer terms results - albeit with a bigger price tag - you might consider Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and laser hair removal.
