Before And After Laser Hair Removal Photos

Before and after laser hair reduction

Before paying for laser hair removal, people generally want to research the topic and (hopefully) individual clinics that they are considering for hair removal. Checking references and before and after photos is an important part of your research.

Check out the links below for some before and after pics from a few laser hair removal providers to see what is possible.

Also, feel free to check out my earlier post How To Prepare For Laser Hair Removal which discusses dos and don’ts before and after laser hair removal treatment to get the best results. Similar preparation applies if you’re considering Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) hair removal, too.

Before And After Laser Hair Removal Photos

While before and after photos are useful, it’s worth remembering that businesses that produce them who are in the laser hair removal business want to show the best results to promote their services and successes. Your success depends on many factors including of course the amount of hair you have to remove, your budget, and more.

Here are some before and after laser removal photos from both laser and IPL providers to give you an idea of what hair removal goals can be realistically achieved along with some commentary on each.

This gallery shows numerous body parts being treated. This hair removal provider has locations nationwide in the US and has conveniently provided a gallery of Face & Lips, Legs, Bikini, Underarm, and Men’s Areas photos with before and after photos of patients.

The men’s photo gallery shows several before and after back and shoulders shots of a reasonable amount of back hair removed. The main gallery comments suggest that most men need 7-10 treatments to achieve this look. From experience, I’d say that’s reasonable based on what I see but if you’re a guy with a full back of hair, you’re going to need significantly more than 7-10 treatments.

This gallery shows how laser can deal with significant hair removal. The first photo shows a man who has a very hairy chest with what appears to be quite thick and coarse hair on the left. On the right side, you can see the results and the hair removal seems very impressive. You can still some remaining hair but for the most part the result is that the overwhelming majority of the chest hair has been removed.

This is another interesting gallery of photos because it shows both men and women with a variety of skin tones. This is important because laser and IPL react differently to skin color and hair color. In general, lasers historically – and IPL certainly – have generally had more success treating those patients who have light skin and dark hair. Today though, modern laser hair removal technologies are better able to help patients who have dark and tanned skin and/or light hair, certainly moreso than in the past.

This gallery shows how laser can be used to help men with shaving issues. The male patient profiled got facial laser hair removal around the beard area to combat razor burn that he felt after shaving. So the before picture on the left actually appears to have less hair than the after shot on the right. This is because the patient wanted to grow a beard and the after shot shows him with a beard but with no hair on the neck area, which is where he had the Diode laser treatment done.

This is a great example of where hair removal might be done for health reasons (ie. ingrown hairs, razor burn, etc) in addition to the aesthetic look it provides.

Men with really hairy backs will want to see this. If you scroll down to Case 1, you will see a man with a ridiculous amount of back hair, with before and after pictures. This is a great example of how a very hair back on a man can be treated with laser. It doesn’t state how many sessions were required but I’d be surprised if it were less than 10 and maybe more.

NOTE: If you look closely you’ll see that even it’s referred to as a laser hair removal client it specifically mentions that Case 1 was treated with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) which is not laser. Still, the results are great.

Conclusion

  • Before and after laser hair removal photos are a great way to see the possibilities of what you might achieve with hair removal.
  • It’s worth remembering that your own case might be different than the patients shown especially if you aren’t told how many hair removal sessions they had to achieve the look that you see.
  • You also want to keep in mind that laser hair removal doesn’t offer permanent hair removal but can over time offer permanent hair reduction if you schedule multiple treatments over a period of time.
  • Check out my post called What Is Permanent Hair Reduction For Men where I discuss the meaning of the term and refer to research that shows long term results of laser and IPL hair removal over several years.
